18 Feb Tyrepower Tasmanian 400 (Thu 28th Mar – Sun 30th Mar 2014)
It took Red Bull’s Craig Lowndes just over an hour and fifteen minutes to win the 84 laps of the Tyrepower Tasmanian 400. Closely followed by team mate Jamie Whincup. Lowndes had a Bad Luck day when he was pushed off the track by his team mate Jamie Whincup, as well as copping a technical infringement for taping up a safety hole in his driver’s window.
Lowndes chose not to pit after the first lap, as did Whincup, leaving him at the front of the pack getting faster with every lap. Hot on his heals was Scott McLauchlin, James Courtney, Will Davison, Shane van Gisbergen & Jamie Whincup all tousling for a chance at the top spot.
Ultimately James Courtney in the HRT Holden squeezed out Erebus’s Will Davison for third place on the podium.
